1) Tell us about yourself:
My name is Vasily Malyshev and I’m the CEO & Founder of Intelogos. Previously I have founded two other companies with the last one, a software development agency, being acquired in 2022. Throughout the years I have also participated in many events, including speaking at the United Nations about my experience as an immigrant entrepreneur and organizing an incubator-workshop series at the NYU Stern School of Business. As part of this workshop series I have taught students how to design, develop and promote their software.
What is Intelogos? What problem is it solving?
I think we can all agree that most companies are only as good as the people that work there. But understanding your team and helping them improve their performance and wellbeing is hard. Intelogos solves this by using analytics and AI to provide automatic suggestions to employers and employees that help improve their performance and wellbeing.
What is performance management?
Performance management is simply an understanding of how your team is working and giving feedback that helps them grow. In a good company both employees and employers want to improve their performance. Employers want it because first and foremost it improves their bottom line. Employees want it because
- when you do what you love you want to become the best at it, and
- you want to get a promotion, want to earn more, want to get a better job title.
Any major learnings about AI and SaaS for the audience?
Ai is not a solution for everything. I think you need to look at it as an expediter of sorts. Meaning that it’s not a solution on its own but it can help solve something faster. You need to proofread a text? You can either spend time learning all of the rules and writing it yourself or you can ask AI to do it. You need to summarize news articles – it can do it. But it can’t create news on its own. It needs some data feed. So I suggest focusing on what data you feed your AI just as much as you focus on AI itself.
Advice on starting an AI start-up? How to begin?
I would suggest following the simple steps below:
- Before building a product, build a landing page and try to advertise it as if you have a product ready. Get users signed up.
- Get on calls with people on the waiting list. Find out what they need.
- Build a demo/prototype. Show it to them. Adjust the demo & product based on feedback.
- Once it’s something that a lot of people like – start building.
